On behalf of the American College of Surgeons-Turkish Chapter, indeed it is a
great pleasure to invite you to attend to 2009 Chapter Meeting that will be held
in İstanbul, Turkey on April 25-26 2009.
This meeting will be accredited by ACS Education Department as the two previous
Chapter meetings held on 2005 and 2007 (this meeting was accredited 11.5,
category 1 CME credits).
İstanbul is the most eastern city in Europe, where the east and the west met
each other forming a melting pot for different races, cultures, religions and
political systems.
Istanbul is the only city in the world to be the capital of three empires namely:
Rome, Byzantine and Ottoman.
İstanbul today not only harbors the most important relics in the world such
mosques (Blue, Süleymaniye), churches (St. Sophia, St. Chora), palaces
(Topkapı, Dolmabahçe), museums (Archeology, Islamic Arts, Modern Arts) and
closed bazaars but it is a vibrant city with restaurants, exclusive night clubs
and music festivals.
Bosphorus is a unique and beautiful waterway running between Black and Marmara
seas and dividing two continents Europe and Asia.
Besides seeing this exceptional 3000 years old metropolis, you will have the
opportunity to visit Troy, Pergamum, Ephesus (home of Virgin Mary) Halicarnassus,
Side, Perge, Cappadocia or the whirling dervishes of Konya.
We look forward to welcoming you in İstanbul and Turkey on April, 2009.
